  • Mary Jo Cicero

    Arts Center Director | Instructor
    A native of Pittsburgh, Mary Jo holds a BA from Chatham University in Studio Art/Art History. In her 40 year career, she has been a painter, a retail display artist, a muralist, and an interior decorating consultant. For a few years she operated her own studio in Selinsgrove where she created custom painted furniture and canvases for clients from Pittsburgh to Selinsgrove to New York City. She became the Director of the Arts Center for the Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA in 2002. 

  • Angela Mowery

    Instructor | Pottery Wheel
    A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Angela earned her BFA in Studio Art with major concentration in Ceramics. She has taught adult pottery wheel classes at the Mechanicsburg Art Center School and Galleries and kids clay classes at Reservoir Park with the Harrisburg Art Association. Having moved to Selinsgrove she began working as a production potter selling functional pottery for everyday use. Currently she teaches adult/kids wheel classes at The Arts Center.

  • Torrey Smith

    Instructor | Pottery- Hand Building Techniques – Kids’ Art
    Originally from Sunbury PA, Torrey graduated in 2013 from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a B.F.A. in Communication and a Concentration in Graphic Design. Torrey is the co-founder of Timber Screen Printing where he applies his vast knowledge of graphic arts to the craft of printmaking. He is a published book illustrator, creating the artwork for author Robynne Raye’s “1000 Dog Portaits”, in 2014.

  • Ann-Marie Smith

    Instructor | Pre-School Art
    Annemarie brings all of her experience, considerable patience and good humor to the under 5yrs. old crowd in the class Artists in Training! These kids are the true believers in “art is fun” and “grown-ups need to get over it.” Annemarie taught Kindergarten and Pre-K at St. Monica School for several years; she is a born glitter girl. She also assists in managing the YMCA’s front desk, jollying the Active Older Adults, and adding “Happy” to the lives of her family and friends.

  • Lina Ferrara

    Instructor | Oil Painting
    Lina Ferrara, a first generation Italian American, traces her artistic journey back to Italian influences in her childhood. Her journey is cemented in the experiences working and traveling with her family and the tutelage of other fine painters. She has taught art since 1988 for Adult Education, conferences, workshops, and trade shows in US, Canada, Holland, and Italy. Her work has been selected for White House, Library of Congress, and Woodmode Industries in Kramer, PA.

  • Jane Albin

    Instructor | Watercolor Painting
    Jane grew up in Windber Pennsylvania, a daughter of the Junior High Art Teacher. She earned a BFA from Parson’s School of Design and went to work for Calvin Klein for the next ten years. While at CK Ltd., she met and married husband, Bob, and had two children. She is a member of the Lewisburg Artist Guild, The Susquehanna Art Society, the Art Association of Harrisburg, and the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters. She has won numerous awards for her watercolors.

  • Barbara Baker

    Instructor | Colored Pencil Drawing
    Barbara Baker was born in Bryn Mawr, PA and graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in Fine Art and Philadelphia College of Art (University of the Arts) with a degree in Illustration. She is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, the Lewisburg Arts Council, and the Artists’ Guild of Lewisburg. Her work has won several awards and honors including being Featured Artist in the Lewisburg Celebration of The Arts and First Prize in the Susquehanna Art Society Art Show.

  • Jim Seitzer

    Instructor | Fine Jewelry, Lapidary
    A native of Pittsburgh, Jim has been the goldsmith at John Dagle Jewelers for 34 years. He studied Fine Art at Edinboro University where he received his degree. Jim’s considerable talent spills over into all forms of art and he can also be found in the pottery studio where he is known as “our hairy potter.” Jim is a valuable asset to The Arts Center where he volunteers time, talent and equipment to make our jewelry program fun and affordable. He hides his wings, but we know he’s an angel! 

  • Jennifer Tilley-Voegtle

    Instructor | Private Drawing Lessons
    Lucky enough for The Arts Center, the folks down in Louisianna let Jennifer move north to share her artistic talents and creative teaching ability in Central PA! Jen graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a BA in Studio Arts. She can draw rings around the rest of us – literally, and can explain how to do that too. Which makes her a great teacher for beginners of all ages who are learning how to “see” with an artist’s eye.
